"Wasting Away" is a song by Mars Argo. It was likely intended for use on their canceled second studio album.
Background[]
Lyrics from the song were posted to Mars Argo's Tumblr and Facebook pages on February 3rd, 2014.[1][2] The track saw its live debut at Stephen F's Bar on March 11th, 2014, and was performed again at Speakeasy four days later.[3]
A "live demo" of the song was posted to Argo's SoundCloud account on April 4th, 2014, with a cover artwork being a selfie of her wearing designer Linda Farrow sunglasses which also appear in the music video for "Runaway Runaway" and the "Using You" single cover. The original upload description was "Writing the song",[4] but this was later removed for unknown reasons.
A 2-minute snippet of an alternate version was played through voice-chat online in July 2020, a recording of which later leaked online.[5] This version features different verse lyrics compared to the released demo.
