Background[]
Argo originally met Mendy sometime in late 2014, after she had ended her romantic relationship with former-creative partner Titanic Sinclair. The two started dating shortly afterward and continued to do so until 2016, as evidenced by ASCII art found in the source code of the two's scrapped project, DCFlamingo.[2] The art depicts two flamingos in love, with one being named Mars Argo and the other Montana Mendy.
In 2017, Mendy told a fan on Facebook that he had been actively harassed and threatened by Sinclair and his friends due to being in a relationship with Argo.[citation needed]
Mendy stated in a forthcoming 2026 SF Weekly interview that he is in possession of a number of deleted social media posts (X, formerly Twitter) made by Argo’s former boyfriend, Mr. Sinclair, concerning her. It's noteworthy that the subject was raised only after prompting, Mendy expressed a desire to move on to other topics shortly thereafter. Mendy did not elaborate on how he obtained the posts. Quoting Mendy, "I don't really think about releasing them one way or another, can we talk about AI now?"
