I Can Only Be Me EP is the first digital solo extended play and third overall by Mars Argo. It was officially released on June 24th, 2024.
Background[]
The EP was leaked a month prior to its release . Later, the EP was released early on Apple Music on June 3, 2024 but was taken down the same day.
Promotion[]
On June 12th, 2024, Argo launched a text subscription through Laylo, through which she is expected to release further announcements about upcoming music.[1] When calling the number, a song snippet was played. It was later revealed to be an upcoming song called “Lick It Like A Kitten” which would be released on June 24th, 2024 along with the EP.
Singles[]
"Angry" was released to streaming services on April 25th, 2022, following no prior announcement. This was followed by Argo changing her social media profile avatars to that of Angry's cover art, in order to promote the single. In August 2022, the song reached one million streams, which the singer celebrated on her Tumblr page.[2]
On March 15th, 2023, she released the second single, "I Can Only Be Me". The track later received an official music video, which was published on YouTube on April 20th, 2023, Argo's birthday.[3] In October 2023, the song reached one million streams,[4][5] with Argo celebrating by releasing a statement.[6]
”Lick It Like A Kitten” was released to streaming services on June 24th, 2024 being announced 3 days prior. The song was promoted using her Laylo text subscription and posting lyrics to social media.
