Anthony Jesse Katai, better known as Tony Katai, is an American photographer, cinematographer and director. He is perhaps best known for directing various episodes of Computer Show, as well as the shorts "Everybody Wants It All" and "Amanita" that used to be on his YouTube channel, XVTVI.

Background[]

Katai was 18 years of age when he met Mars Argo and Titanic Sinclair in Detroit in 2009, which led to him working on videos for the Grocerybag YouTube channel, including the music videos for songs like "Mrs. Stadler", "Love in Black and White" and "Runaway Runaway". He is formerly associated with another photographer, Matthew Franklin, who also helped in the cinematography of the former two videos.

Katai and Argo were close friends leading up to the filming of "Amanita" in December 2015, a video that would not be released for almost a full year, and in 2016 and 2017 he made insulting remarks about her on Instagram livestreams. After Argo striked down both of the two major videos they made together in 2016, Katai has reuploaded them on numerous occasions. He has also sold merchandise including prints and DVDs of "Everybody Wants It All", which was arguably his most popular video prior to its deletion.

On April 5th, 2024, Katai allegedly joined a Mars Argo fan Discord server and leaked multiple of his own previous works with Argo,[1] including photoshoot outtakes dating from 2015,[2][3] a full rough cut of the 2013 music video for "Runaway Runaway",[4] and other unknown clips from the time.[5] The music video's rough cut was additionally uploaded to Katai's YouTube channel as an unlisted video.[6] Argo was promptly informed of the situation and affirmed she would "let [her] legal team know".[1]
