Groovemaster is a 40,000-square-foot music recording studio in Chicago, Illinois, owned and largely built by mixer and producer Johnny K. He has used the studio to work with famous bands such as Finger Eleven and Plain White T's. Following a Grammy nomination for "Producer of the Year" in 2009, he began working with Mars Argo for their canceled second studio album.

Background[]

Mars Argo and Titanic Sinclair started working with Johnny K at Groovemaster in 2010. They reworked older songs such as "Electric Car"[1] and "Technology Is a Dead Bird" that year with the producer, and although the original studio recordings were not officially released, acoustic performances were recorded in the studio's 'Blue Room',[2][3] the audio of which were later included on the 2010 release of the Internet Sessions EP.[4]

The song "Nothing Without You" was recorded at Groovemaster in 2011, and released to YouTube later that year.[5] A remix of the song "Using You", recorded at the studio in 2012, was also released as a single on December 21st, 2014.[6]
