"Eleven" (stylized as "[Eleven]") is an unreleased song by Mars Argo that was likely intended for use on their self-titled canceled second studio album. It was later re-recorded and released by former-band member Alex Mixter on April 22nd, 2014, as the third track on Daniel the Band's extended play The Blow Away Lab.[1]
Background[]
A concept instrumental for the song titled "Memo" was originally recorded in April 2011 by a former Mars Argo band member. Mars Argo and Titanic Sinclair liked the demo and recorded a version of the song for their then-upcoming second studio album, which was ultimately scrapped. Little else is known about this version of the song.
According to a former band member, Alex Mixter had decided to re-write and re-record the track for his own band after the duo had scrapped it, which was the version that ultimately got released as part of their final EP.
Lyrics[]
Daniel the Band version[]
Haze of blue
Looking down
I look at you
Your disappointed frown
And I'm down the rabbit hole
I'm falling fast and coming up
I'm alone, and I've been for some time now
Since you've been gone
I'm falling fast and coming up
I'm alone, and it's been coming for some time
Passing through
Yellow flowers turning brown
Misconstrue my undistorted round
And I'm down the rabbit hole
I'm falling fast and coming up
I'm alone, and I've been for some time now
Since you've been gone
I'm falling fast and coming up
I'm alone, and it's been coming for some time
(And I'm down the rabbit hole...)
